Kwun Tong (觀塘) is an area in Kwun Tong District, situated at the eastern part of the Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong.

Its boundary stretches from Lion Rock in the north and Lei Yuen Mun in the south, and Kowloon Peak in the east to former Kai Tak Aiport in the West.

Kwun Tong is one of the New Towns in Hong Kong, though it was and remains as a major industrial area.

In older days of Hong Kong, there are many salt yards around Kwun Tong, whose long coastline stretched to as far as Kowloon Bay and To Kwa Wan in the west.

According to other stories, Kwun Tong was a typhoon shelter for the Kowloon Water Police, which made it an important political and defence point in North-West of Kowloon.

Kwun Tong is served by the Kwun Tong Station of MTR’s Kwun Tong Line. Roads that are serving the area include Tate’s Cairn Tunnel to New Territories and Eastern Harbour Tunnel to Hong Kong Island.
