Hillwood Road (山林道) is a road north of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, south of Austin Road, north of Observatory Hill. Its west end of Nathan Road is near to Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station.
It is a famous dining area, so-called by locals as “Tsim Sha Tsui Foodie Street” or “Tsim Sha Tsui Soho”.
From the 1970s, a number of Japanese Teppanyaki restaurants started to operate on Hillwood Road. Then came with more Western-style restaurants, Korean restaurants and chic pubs.
Cars are parked on both sides of Hillwood Road during the evening. Local celebrities and artists like to dine in there.
It is also a name of Cantonese popular song in Hong Kong. Its lyrics are about something changes around you. One needs to sacrifice to tradeoff something. But the one thing you can’t forget is your original goal. A meaningful song!
Hillwood Road is not a long road but packed with many restaurants and cafes on the street levels. Hotpot restaurants, teppanyaki, Japanese and Korean restaurants are all around.
