Dear fellow members, that’s not bad at all!!!
Tam’s Yunnan Rice Noodles is known for its “Civilian Food” (平民美食) because of its cheap price and tasty snacks such as, garlic white meat (蒜泥白肉), spicy pig ear (麻辣豬耳), and small spicy chicken wing (土匪雞翼). It is said that the rice noodles are popular among youngsters Hong Kong.
As far as Lacrucci knows, each bowl of rice noodles with 2 side dishes is priced at HK$25. Customers can pick different soup flavor, side dishes and more importantly, spiciness. It’s spicy mix can range from one to ten grades (十小辣到特辣) whereas 10 is the most extreme spicy.
Although the locally-made noodle operator started from a humble small shop in Cheung Sha Wan Wing Lung Street (長沙灣永隆街) in 1998, it became one of high-flyers in fast food business.
News confirmed today that Toridoll Holdings Corp, Japan’s biggest operator of noodle shops and eateries, will buy control of the Hong Kong company that operates Tam’s Yunnan Rice Noodles (譚仔雲南米線) outlets in the city in a takeover valued at 15 billion yen (HK$1 billion).
